A message from The Founder
After more than two decades working within recruitment, talent acquisition and business strategy, from agency and outsourced environments to nearly nine years in-house partnering with senior leaders at Macquarie, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand what great talent strategies can achieve.
I have also seen where our industry can fall short.
Too often, recruitment starts with “Who do we need to hire?” when I believe the more important question is “What are we trying to achieve?”
That distinction is one of the reasons I founded The Rivya Partnership.
I wanted to create an advisory business that approaches talent differently, one that starts by understanding the organisation, its ambitions and the problem it is trying to solve before recommending a solution. Sometimes that solution will involve finding exceptional people. Sometimes it will mean understanding a market, building a new capability, challenging an existing approach or helping a leadership team think differently about its workforce.
The name Rivya makes that philosophy particularly personal to me. The business is named after my daughter, whose name means “the chosen one.” Beyond its personal significance, it represents something I have believed throughout my career: the right person, given the right opportunity, can have an extraordinary impact on a business. But choosing the right people is only part of the equation, organisations also need the right strategy and environment for them to succeed.
That is why strategy and execution are equally important to how we work. I want The Rivya Partnership to be a genuine extension of our clients' businesses: listening first, providing independent advice, challenging constructively and rolling up our sleeves to help deliver.
That is where I believe The Rivya Partnership can make a difference.
I want our clients to see us as a genuine extension of their business, a partner they can trust to listen first, give an independent perspective, challenge constructively and, importantly, roll up our sleeves and help deliver. Because I have never believed there should be a divide between strategy and execution. The best advice has little value if it cannot be put into practice.
The principles behind The Rivya Partnership are simple: partnership, trust, integrity and expertise. They reflect both the kind of business I want to build and the kind of relationships I want us to have with our clients.
We do not try to be everything to everyone. And we will not measure our success purely by the number of projects completed. I want us to be measured by the difference we leave behind.
Better decisions. Stronger teams. Greater capability. And organisations better equipped for whatever comes next.
